NJIHC Commissioner Gilda Rorro Baldassari Publishes “Promise Me” Memoir
Cav, Gilda Rorro Baldassari’s memoir relives a a fascinating journey from Mexican movie star to leader of New Jersey’s Italian American community. Professor Fred Gardaphé writes:
Gilda makes her way around the world and experiences the ups and downs of a career in civil rights and public service. She brings you into a conversation where her present speaks to her past, whipping up stories that attract and sustain attention while documenting a life full of adventures few women of her time could have had. With a conscience shaped by her ancestors and a curiosity piqued by modern opportunities, she navigates a man’s world with courage and class.

Call for Panelist/Participants for forthcoming NJIHC Italian Citizenship event
NJIHC is currently organizing a Panel Discussion / Q&A that will explore the different paths to obtaining Italian citizenship through descent. Tracing your Italian roots is an immensely rewarding way to reconnect with your heritage, but trying to find out where, when, and how to apply can be quite confusing. Interested in genealogy, or pursuing an Italian passport, then this information session is for you. (Event tentatively scheduled last week of June in New Brunswick, additional details to follow.)

If you have expertise in this area and are interested in participating, please Email NJIHC Chairman Robert DiBiase at RDiBiase@NJItalianHeritage.org
