Primo Incontro is a yearly professional development and networking event where you can earn professional development hours, meet colleagues from numerous schools, see the latest textbooks and teaching materials from a variety of publishers and vendors and come away with new skills, ideas, information and strategies to inspire you to tackle the new school year with renewed energy and expertise!

An expanded, memorable vocabulary is essential for ease of communication. Attend our Primo Incontro for ways to help your students expand and remember their vocabulary using the four skills. A variety of effective strategies and activities will be presented, such as: expanding vocabulary through journaling, cooperative learning, news articles, new ways with Quizlet, games, TPR, and much more. Attend ITANJ’s premier Professional Development day to take away over 35 activities to use in different levels of teaching Italian in your classroom. In addition to our main topic, we will have three break-out sessions, by topic for participant collaboration. One of these topics will be Advocacy for our beloved Italian language and culture.
